Cutting Polycarbonate into small components for a prototype before injection moulding with volume.

This post is about cutting small components on a cnc router from polycarbonate sheet material with a 3mm spiral cutting bit.

We have experience in designing and making using a CNC router and CAD software. Because we have gained all this experience we have been able to overcome typical issues that arise when approaching the cnc cutting of small components from sheet material.

As you can see these are pretty small parts that with a larger volume of manufacture would be better injection moulded but with tooling costs so high an low volume production we are able to produce at a price point that makes the prototype development of this product viable.
